PROFILE

SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Md. Anamul Hoque is a Professor of Chemistry at Jahangirnagar University, Savar, Dhaka-1342, Bangladesh. He completed B.Sc. (Honours) and M.Sc. in Chemistry from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh.  He also completed a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh in 2008 with Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Khan and Prof. Dr. Farida Akhtar. His research area covers the branches of Physical and Biophysical Chemistry which includes the study of the interaction of drugs, polymers, and biomolecules with surfactants; metal-ligand binding; Charge-Transfer complexation of donor-acceptor molecules as well as the purification of wastewater by treating with surfactant solutions.  Prof. Hoque has developed a strong collaboration in pursuing research with Prof. Dr. Abdullah M. Asiri and Dr. Malik Abdul Rub, Chemistry Department, Faculty of Science, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah-21589, Saudi Arabia. He has already published 109 articles in renowned and reviewed scientific journals at home and abroad.

RESEARCH INTEREST

Studies of (i) the interaction of surface-active agents with drugs, polymers, metals, toxic materials as well as different environmental pollutants; (ii) the interaction of drugs with Bio- and synthetic polymers; (iii) Charge Transfer Complexation; (iv) removal of dyes from pollutant water; and (v) Nano-crystal synthesis, characterization and determination of different properties.
